This Great Salt Lake service project will be held at Antelope Island State Park on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Join us to learn about Antelope Islands’ contribution to Great Salt Lake hydrology and geology, while supporting our service project. We’ll start at 9 AM at the Fielding Garr Ranch with juice and donuts, and a park ranger talk on the hydrology\geology of the island in relation to the Great Salt Lake. Our service project will follow, in the form of plant removal and trash cleanup, which will last until 11:30 a.m. Physical activity will likely include digging and pulling plants, as well as picking up trash. After the project completion, all participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to share a little more time in this beautiful place with friends and allies. Wear long pants and sturdy work shoes. Bring a shovel, work gloves, and a water bottle. If it’s a sunny day, you will definitely want a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as there is very little shade on the island. For Free parking, be sure to tell them you are there to support the Earth Stewardship project. If you want to car pool, need other transportation assistance, or have any questions, contact us at slc@ldsearthstewardship.org If you have not been to Antelope Island in the fall, it is stunningly beautiful.
